Get Automatic Backlinks For Your Squidoo Lenses Free

One of the most important things that help to get your Squidoo lenses higher in the search engines is backlinks. The truth is, the more backlinks you have to your lenses the higher they will raise in the serps. Any body that’s been in the Internet Marketing arena for a little while knows the more common way of getting backlinks, article writing, social bookmarking and blog and forum commenting.

But there is one way of getting backlinks that you can put on autopilot and that’s using your profile’s RSS feed. By submitting your profile’s RSS feed the feed directories whenever you publish a new lens it will automatically post on the directories you submitted to.

You can find your profile’s feed URL on any of your lenses. It’s the button under the title that says RSS. If you click that button it will take you a window where you can subscribe to the feed. You just want to copy the URL from the address window and use that in the feed directories. Below are a few feed directories that will get you started.

My Amazon Payment This Month

I received my third payment from Amazon yesterday. I had mentioned in an earlier post that I had been an associate of Amazon for years, but had not made enough money for a payment until I started taking my efforts with Squidoo more seriously.

I started receiving payments in October for August. Amazon pays three months behind. I had no sells in October so I didn’t get a payment in December. The payment I received this month was for November. I know, it sounds a little confusing, but it’s all good. Now, I’m not making a whole lot of money yet as you can see by the image below. I’m still trying to get my head around the whole aspect of the process. However, I am slowly getting the hang of everything.

So far this month I haven’t made any money and I am working on boosting my Valentine lenses in the search engines. If make nothing this I am hoping that next month will be better. The whole thing is to not give up. I already proved I could make money doing this.

Well, it’s that time of year when every online moneymaker starts gearing up to try and make some of that Valentine money and I am no different. My third lens, Valentines Candy For Your Kids Parties And Lovers is really for everybody. It showcases the different kinds of Valentine’s candy there is and the uses for them.

Combining High Priced And Low Priced Products To Make Money With Squidoo

In my post yesterday I talked about targeting high priced products to make more money with Squidoo. However I don’t want to diminish the importance of also promoting low priced products. As an Amazon affiliate the percentage you get of the items you sell go up the more you sell.

Since low priced products sell more then high priced products you can use them to drive up your affiliate percentage and if you happen to sell a high priced at a higher percentage you will make even more money. So don’t just target high priced items, get some low priced ones in there too.

Selling High Priced Products To Make Money With Squidoo

I recently started thinking that if I sold higher priced items it would be possible to make a good amount of money selling less items. But, will high priced items sell on Squidoo? There are some people that do make money with Squidoo selling big screen TVs and computers, but how about something that costs thousands of dollars.

Well, with that thought I decided to do an experiment and I created my Discounted Rolex Watches – Where To Buy Safely lens. It is in its early stages right now and I’m still working on getting traffic to it, but I will let you know how it does.

Make Money With Squidoo And Amazon A Killer Combo

I and many other Squidoodlers have found that using Amazon in combination with Squidoo is a great way to make money with Squidoo. If you are an affiliate of Amazon you can use your affiliate link and/or the Amazon modules to sell products. If you’re not an affiliate of Amazon you can just use the modules.

The reason Amazon goes so well with Squidoo for making money is because Amazon has thousands of different kinds of products, products that fits thousands of different niches. Just about any niche that you can get into you will be able to find a product for it on Amazon.

Are there other affiliate programs you can use on Squidoo? Of course, you can use just about any program you’re an affiliate for and you should use them. It’s just that you have so much more choices with Amazon.

Squidoo has modules for several different affiliate programs that you can use to sell products and you should use them even if you are an affiliate of the program. Use a combination of your own affiliate links and the modules. By using the modules you give Squidoo a chance to make money and keep their platform free for us to use.

Some Help With Getting Your Lens Indexed

I was a little worried recently about my lens Gold Heart Necklace A Great Gift For Valentines Day because after two days it had not indexed in Google. This was unusual for me because usually my lenses get indexed within 24 hours.

I had done all of my usual methods of getting my lens indexed, some I learned from One Week Marketing and it didn’t work. I thought if I just gave it another day it would surely be indexed than, but no dice.

Now I don’t really like to do any serious back linking until Google has found my lenses, but on day three of not being found I decided I would just go ahead and do some back linking and see if that would help. If not I would just move on. By the end of that day, BOOM! Not only was my lens now in Google, some of my backlinks were showing up too.

The moral of this story is, if you find that your lens isn’t being indexed when you have used your normal way of getting indexed, try throwing more backlinks at it. It may be that Google thinks it already has enough lenses indexed on that same subject that has more authority then yours. But more backlinks to your lens may knock one of those other lenses out for yours to take its place. I’m just speculating here. I don’t know this for sure.

My First Money Making Squidoo Lenses

I have mentioned before that I have been a member of Squidoo for quite awhile, but that I have only recently started taking serious efforts to make money with it. I mean I had made a little money with before from their revenue sharing, but it was only like a dollar here two dollars there, nothing substantial. But the first two lenses that I worked seriously and not half ass upped the ante for me and got me my first Amazon payment.

The two lenses in question were my Pillow Pets - Best Pillows For Kids and my Buy Pillow Pets - Pillows For Kids lenses. Now I’m not saying I made a big bunch of money from these lenses, but they did show me that I can make money doing this and they inspired me to do more. Hell, I have even been an Amazon affiliate for years and never made more than a few cents.

What inspired me to do the Pillow Pets lenses was a commercial I saw while watching a movie on the Chiller Channel. Here I am watching this horror movie people getting killed all over the place and suddenly there’s a commercial for these cute cuddly stuffed animals that turn into pillows. What’s more crazy is I liked them.

Well, I figured if I liked them there might be an abundance of people that would like them and want to get them for their kids. So I did the research and found that were looking for them so I made the lenses. What I didn’t know is that they had be out for a few years so I was a little late getting on the train.

Well, I started getting a little discouraged after learning this news and started thinking that these things weren’t going to sell, but the work had already been done. But low and behold, a few days after publishing those lenses I started getting sells.

I think this post has a couple of lessons. One is you can make money with Squidoo if you work at it whole-heartedly and not half assed. Two is, just because a project has been done by a lot of people or a product has been out there for awhile, if your research tells you people are still looking for it then it is possible to make money from it. Do the work and then let it work for you and move on.

Some Help To Help You Make Money With Squidoo

I mentioned in my last post that I am always looking for and finding different ways to help me make money with Squidoo. Well one of the ways I found has given a whole different way of going about my Squidoo focus. You see I can be a bit anal about doing things and I put a lot of work and time into trying to get things perfect or near perfect. The problem is that it’s not always necessary for things to be perfect.

When I decided to get serious about Squidoodling, that need to get everything just right kicked in. I was spending days trying to get the right products and the right keywords. Then I would a day or two to create the lens trying to figure out the right elements and the positioning. And don’t get me started on how long it to do the promoting, trying to get all the back linking I could find.

The thing is I would do all of that and some of the lenses did make a dime. All that time and effort down the drain. Although, who knows they make money later on down the line, but still.

But then I recently found this post on SquidU that changed my way of doing my Squidoodling. The post is about a year old and in it Tiffany Dow, of TiffanyDow.com, challenges members of Squidoo to make one lens a week for 52 weeks and gives helpful tasks to do backed up with videos and a free e-book.

The tasks are simple and easy to do and are geared to having you relax and not worry so much about getting everything perfect, but still create a good looking informative lens that makes money. You do a minimal amount of promotion and then let that lens work while you create more. For the lenses that start to make money you can go back and do more promotion and add more to them if you wish.

Wow, what a concept! Go back and do more instead of trying to do everything at once like I was doing. How eye opening and freeing that is. I love it!

I have been following Tiffany for a little while now and she always gives good tips and helps a lot of people. A lot of times for free. I suggest you check out her blog. Why I Started The Squidoodling Blog

I mentioned in my first blog post that I started this blog to chronicle my Squidoodling, which to is making money with Squidoo. It’s a fun and kind of easy way to make money online. I mean you can make money for simply creating the lenses, which are just one-page web pages and driving traffic to them. The more lenses you make and the more traffic you get the more money you make. It’s that simple.

Let’s get back to this blog. My plan is to chronicle my progress in my quest to make money with Squidoo. I will give you information on the lenses I make and have made so far. I will let you know what has worked and what didn’t. I will also give you helpful tips to help along with your Squidoodling. Hopefully the information I give here will help you and inspire you if you decide to take or are already on your Squidoodling journey.

I am always looking for and finding different ways to help me along with Squidoo and I will post what I found and have found right here on this blog. I have been a member of the site for quite sometime now, but I have only recently really gotten serious about working with the site.

What really made me get serious with this is when a couple of lenses that I didn’t just work half assed started making money within the first week I published them Those two lenses was instrumental in me receiving my first Amazon payment. I knew then that if I did what I should be doing instead of half doing it there was money to be made. I have since had some success with some other lenses, but not like the initial two. However it’s more than I had before so the journey continues.

Squidoodling - My Quest To Make Money With Squidoo

Okay, so what is Squidoodling anyway? Well to me, Squidoodling anyway? Well to me, Squidoodling is the process of creating Squidoo Lenses that make money. My main goal is to make money with Squidoo and they make it very easy for you to do so. If you are into Internet Marketing and you are not a member of Squidoo, might I suggest you click that link you just passed and become one.

Here is why. As member you can make money for just creating lenses and they are so easy to make. The more lenses you make and get traffic to, the more money you can make. They also allow you to do affiliate marketing so you can promote affiliate products on your lenses. They even have Amazon, eBay and other affiliate modules that you can use to promote products if you’re not an affiliate of those programs or even if you are.

The best thing is, once you have your lenses set up and going they become a source of passive income. Who doesn’t like passive income, huh?
